Over his 40-plus year career in medicine, Russ has specialized in high-stress occupations while working with surgeons, Special Forces, airline pilots and professional athletes. He has deeply researched the negative affects of intense moments of focus that are often paired with high-levels of intermittent stress in various professions. As Russ began to work with high-functioning business executives, it became clear that there were many similar negative health consequences that are caused when these combined forces continue over longer periods of time.
Understanding everyone is biochemically unique, Russ incorporated much deeper testing than traditional standards of care to create protocols that would address performance and put a shield up against disease. Often people with very demanding jobs are unaware of the serious cause and effect forces at work. Russ has always had a passion for increasing performance, solving medical mysteries, understanding chronic conditions and making adjustments in treatments needed in real-time. His personalized programs and customized protocols have proven effective across a wide variety of health issues.
Russ raced as a tri-athlete to better deal with the stresses of being a high-level paramedic attached to a SWAT team early in his career. As he saw major health issues arise among some top athletes that should have been in the best shape of their lives, including cardiac arrhythmias and heart attacks, Russ was inspired to found The Institute of Nutritional Medicine and Cardiovascular Research back in 1996, the same year he started the ketogenic diet.
Traditional physicians don’t understand that the intensity and focus of a high-level executive is the same as a sniper, a surgeon or an airline pilot. Russ develops personalized protocols that are designed to increase performance, manage chronic conditions and put a shield up against disease. He is available to his Executive Program clients 24/7 so they can make ongoing adjustments in coordination with their own physician should they choose.
